53. Kite Surfing
An extreme sport which combines paragliding, surfing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, snowboarding, skateboarding and gymnastics. Cape Town has a reputation as a top destination for kitesurfing enthusiasts. In 2016 Cape Town set a Guinness World Record for “Largest Parade of Kitesurfers” (415). In 2013 the Red Bull King of the Air competition moved from Hawaii to Cape Town and has been hosted there every year since.
